Heckathorn Family | Utah Family Photographer

Josh, Lisa and little Augustina are from Seattle. They came down for BYU homecoming weekend, and stayed up at Sundance. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location- or family for that matter! It is so beautiful in the mountains with all the changing leaves. Add some beautiful people to the beautiful scenery, and voila! You get these family photos. Enjoy!

ants in my pants

i have this problem where when i have pictures i am really excited about, i can't do anything else until i have finished editing them. the only problem with today is this: I have two sets of photos from two different shoots, both of which i just want to finish because i love them so much. too bad i have a paper due on monday that i am only halfway finished with! so i'm forcing myself to quit photoshop and open word. i can do this.
for now, here's a preview from the first shoot of the day, the Heckathorns. Now do you understand why i don't want to stop looking at these images? yeah, they're beautiful people.

Easy as Pie

Another still life assignment. This week we were to create an image reminiscent of a Rembrandt painting. We have about a million apples at our house due to the half dozen apple trees on our property...so naturally, i decided to make a still life of apple pie and apples. Heres what happened:

Food is fun.  Even though those figs were gross, they were pretty. And never shoot whipped cream with tungsten lights. Too hot = too melty.  I didn't even think of that until I got in the studio.
Keep watching for more foodie stuff to come!
