ISIS // BIRTH STORY

I arrived in San Francisco on Sunday. Amy had been having braxton hicks contractions since that morning. It was so exciting! I really thought that I might have gotten there just in time! However, baby Isis decided to take her sweet time. Monday and Tuesday passed, and Amy's contractions were continually getting more intense. On Tuesday night, Amy's cousin and brother came over to visit. At this point, Amy's contractions were so strong that she didn't really feel like talking to people while they were happening. So Ryan and I dared each other to eat the gross Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans to keep us entertained. Amy left the room, and we all thought she was just going to lie down on her bed. We didn't find out until much later that our talk of booger, vomit, sardine, etc flavored jelly beans were making her nauseous. Oops! Sorry Amy! A few minutes later, her contractions were so close together and so long that it was definitely time to go into the hospital. Unfortunately, her hospital was full. So we had to go to San Francisco General Hospital. Here is the chronological story in pictures.

Moving into the delivery room.

Amy had contractions all through the night.

We were all pretty exhausted.

The only thing that helped during her contractions was pressure on her hips.

Time to PUSH!

Tears of joy. Isis was the perfect baby.

Happy Parents!

Daddy Donald.

Isis was born at 2:10 pm on Wednesday May 1, 2013. She was 6 pounds 14 ounces, 20 inches long. This was the hardest photography assignment I have ever had, but also one of the most rewarding. What a beautiful day. I can't even put into words how amazing babies are. Just like that, Donald and Amy became parents. And we got to welcome a perfect new baby girl into the world.

Harris Family

All of my friends who have babies make me want a baby so bad! Victoria and Jordan are no exception. Little baby Elli is such a cutie. She is so funny. I love it when she just laughs for no reason. Since Victoria is a fantastic photographer herself, she has so many cute ones of Elli, but not that many of the whole family! I was so flattered when she asked me to take their family pictures, and I can't wait to take even more in sunny, green South Carolina next month!

HANNAH & DUSTIN // ENGAGED

Meet Hannah. She's my sister-in-law/former roommate. (Yes, she is the reason I met my husband... thank hann.... I owe you big time...!) She is vivacious, wild, and smart and talented.
The first time I heard about Dustin was at one of Pat's fall scrimmages. Hannah told me that she had met a guy, and that he was so cute, and tall, and amazing and EEEEEE!!! (Girl squeals all around).  She had a date with him that night, and she was even wearing mascara for it! (if you know Hannah, this is a big deal. I think the last time she wore mascara was when she dressed up as Stevie Nicks for a Halloween show at Muse in Provo).
Anyways, things escalated quickly, (as these things tend to do...) and I've never seen Hannah so giddy or smiley before!
They are getting married on May 25, 2013. YAY!
Welcome to the fam Dustin, we think you're pretty great.
